Governor Godwin Emefiele of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said the apex bank plans to, overtime, reduce the volume of N500 and N1000 in circulation in the economy.
He suggested that the large volume of higher denominations in circulation could be part of the reasons fueling the rising inflation in the country.
