The Director-General, of the Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Dr Mahmud Tunde Ajeigbe, has revealed that the party’s flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar would be in Kwara on Thursday to flag off his campaign activities in the state.

Naija News reports that Ajeigbe made this revelation in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Tuesday (today) at a press briefing to announce Atiku’s visit.

He said the event would hold at the Metropolitan Square, along Asa Dam road, in Ilorin.

He noted that with the current level of ineptitude and incompetence of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, “the PDP, has much more to offer Nigerians in terms of governance experience at managing a diverse country like Nigeria.”

The Director-General also remarked that Nigeria needs to be rescued and put on an improved trajectory of growth which only the PDP can do.

Ajeigbe decried the level of decline in major economic indices, like the unprecedented poverty levels, worsening unemployment situations, increased levels of insecurity and embarrassing levels of corruption.

He added that “It is incontrovertible that our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is a versatile and highly experienced politician who has the capacity to take this country out of its current quagmire.”

Ajeigbe was also optimistic that the crisis rocking the party currently would be resolved and the party would come out stronger for next year’s elections.

Speaking about how the PDP was faring in Kwara, he said the party had learnt its lessons and corrected mistakes committed which swept the party out of power in 2019.

He, therefore, was confident that the party is now sure of taking back the state in 2023 because the people have seen the difference now.

He also said he was confident in INEC to conduct free, fair, credible and acceptable elections in the state next year adding that the BVAS will be a game changer that will prevent attempts to rig elections.
