For the first time in history of Zaria Education Development Association (ZEDA), the emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera is to chair its 30th anniversary and annual general meeting, Saturday.
Chairman of the central working committee of the association, Dr Abdul Alimi Bello disclosed this at press briefing in Zaria, Tuesday.
He said the event is unique because this would be the first time a traditional ruler would chair the event since the inception of the association in 1992.
He added that the Minister of Education, Mal. Adamu Adamu would be the guest of honour and would unveil the projects executed by the association in the last 30 years.
Part of the achievements, according Dr. Bello, is the Model Nursery, Primary and Secondary School being established and funded by the non-governmental organisation.
He stated that, another milestone recorded by ZEDA during the last three decades include the revival of secondary school quiz and sport competitions which was stalled for a while in the state.
Other notable personalities expected at the 30th anniversary and AGM are the governors of Kaduna and Bauchi states, Mallam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai and Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir who would be chief host and special guest of honour, respectively.
