A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council (PCC) on Tuesday confirmed that there are moves to reconcile the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar and the five aggrieved Governors.

According to the PCC member, the meeting between Atiku and former president, Goodluck Jonathan last week was productive.

Naija News had earlier reported that the former vice president and his running mate in the 2023 general elections, Ifeanyi Okowa met with Jonathan at his residence.

There were claims that Atiku discussed the crisis in the PDP with the former president and pleaded with him to reconcile the aggrieved governors.

The PCC member who spoke with Vanguard on the crisis in the party said reconciliation is not impossible.

He further stated that he is aware of internal efforts to intervene in the crisis in the party.

The PCC member said, “Reconciliation is not impossible, though I cannot speak authoritatively on it.

”I am aware there are internal efforts to intervene but I cannot speak on the terms of it.”

Speaking on whether Atiku’s meeting with Jonathan was not productive, the PCC member said, “That is not correct. The meeting they held in Abuja was very fruitful, that is the only takeaway I had from their meeting.”
