The Ondo State Safety Community Company, popularly often known as Amotekun Corps, says its operatives have been attacked  within the Igoba neighborhood, close to Akure in Akure North Native Authorities Space of Ondo State.

The company stated the operatives have been attacked  by the herdsmen whereas they  have been implementing the anti-open grazing regulation operational within the state.

The spokesperson for the Amotekun Corps within the state, Jimoh Adeniken,  whereas  confirming the assault in a press release on Saturday, stated:

“Upon fixed complaints from many farmers within the Igoba and Osi areas of Akure North Native Authorities for the reason that sixth of Might 2024 until date, the company of Amotekun corps from the Headquarters in Alagbaka Akure, responded immediately dated fifth of July 2024, at about 1600 hours,” he stated.

“Through the operation, the corps surveillance crew was led to the farms by the house owners. On getting there, they met over 100 and twenty cows ravaging the farms and there was no person with the cows.

“Decided to implement the anti-open grazing regulation of the state, the operatives of the Amotekun corps moved the cows out of the farms, and whereas passing by the Sango Space, at Igoba, alongside Ado Highway in Akure, {groups} of armed Fulani herdsmen attacked the officers with stones, bottles, cutlasses, and weapons.”

He stated the operatives escaped to the foremost street whereas the herdsmen continued to pelt them with stones.
