Nigeria’s present consultant on the council, Amaju Pinnick, who can also be a two-term President of the Nigerian Soccer Federation (NFF), was first elected to the FIFA Council in March 2021. He’s now searching for re-election.
The FIFA Council, which includes 37 members who serve four-year phrases, performs an important position in FIFA’s decision-making course of.
President Tinubu’s help for Nigeria’s bid was made public in an announcement issued by his Particular Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
“President Bola Tinubu expresses sturdy help for Nigeria’s bid for re-election into the FIFA Council.
“The FIFA Council is the principal decision-making organ of the group within the intervals of the FIFA Congress.
“The Council includes 37 members elected by the FIFA Congress for a renewable time period of 4 years.
“Mr. Amaju Pinnick, two-term President of the Nigerian Soccer Federation (NFF), was elected into the Council in March 2021 – the third Nigerian after the late Oyo Orok Oyo and Dr. Amos Adamu.
“Mr. Pinnick is searching for re-election into the Council, and President Tinubu helps the bid for Nigeria to retain its seat within the Council,” the assertion stated.
