Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque in Plateau State, Sheikh Lawal Adam Abubakar, has been confirmed lifeless.
The cleric died at a non-public hospital in Jos on Thursday, July 11, after a short sickness.
He was 80-years-old.
Bashir Lawal Adam confirmed the passing of his father to journalists on Thursday night.
He stated the late Islamic cleric left behind three wives, 14 youngsters and plenty of grandchildren.
On a press release, the Plateau State Publicity Secretary of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Sani Mudi, described the cleric’s loss of life as a loss to all the Muslim neighborhood within the state.
“The late Sheikh Adam was an erudite scholar, Islamic jurist, famend Qur’anic scholar, and a revered chief of the Muslim neighborhood. He was appointed Deputy Chief Imam in 2009 and later Chief Imam in 2015,” Mudi stated.
