Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has filed a lawsuit towards Kaduna State Home of Meeting member, Henry Marah, and Channels TV.
The previous governor is in search of N3 billion in damages over alleged defamatory feedback made throughout a TV interview.
Based on the writ of summons filed at an FCT Excessive Court docket on July 11, 2024, El-Rufai’s counsel, A.U. Mustapha (SAN), claims that the June 5 “Politics Immediately” interview on Channels TV, titled “Investigation of El-Rufai Administration,” was “malicious, unwarranted, with out justification, defamatory, and drastically injurious” to El-Rufai’s repute.
The previous governor alleges that Marah made false and damaging statements about his borrowing of N423 billion throughout his tenure as governor between 2015 and 2023, claiming that the funds have been unaccounted for and borrowed with out due course of.
