Some ‘Unknown Gunmen’ set 15 trucks ablaze on Friday morning at Amorka town in Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that details of the attack are still sketchy, but unconfirmed reports have it that shops were also destroyed and looted.
Amorka is a border town with Imo State.
The outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been leading calls for the secession of the region, the homeland of the Igbo ethnic group, from the rest of Nigeria. Its leader Nnamdi Kanu is being charged with “terrorism” and treason by the federal government.
The group and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) have been accused of masterminding destructions and killings in many parts of the southeast region. But IPOB has consistently denied the charge.
