The Northern States Governors’ Discussion board convened with the Chief of Defence Workers (CDS), Common Christopher Musa, and distinguished conventional rulers on Monday in Kaduna to deal with the continued insecurity disaster in Nigeria’s northern area.
The high-stakes assembly, which included governors, deputy governors, and conventional leaders, highlighted the urgency of resolving points associated to terrorism, banditry, and socio-economic challenges.
Common Musa offered a complete briefing to the governors, outlining the navy’s operations and future technique to curb rising insecurity.
“We’re dedicated to securing the North and decreasing the threats posed by banditry and terrorism,” Musa asserted, emphasising the navy’s ongoing dedication to restoring peace within the area.
The assembly attracted high-ranking leaders, together with governors from Kaduna, Gombe, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Borno, Bauchi, Kwara, and Adamawa, in addition to deputy governors representing different northern states.
Conventional rulers in attendance included the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Saad, Shehu of Borno, Umar El-Kanemi, and the Emir of Zazzau, Nuhu Bamali, underscoring the importance of unified motion.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe and Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna collectively highlighted the socio-economic toll that insecurity has inflicted on the northern economic system, calling for swift and strategic interventions.
“Insecurity has negatively impacted our economic system and livelihoods. Pressing actions are needed to revive normalcy and safe a future for our kids,” acknowledged Yahaya.
The Northern States Governors’ Discussion board reiterated its dedication to collaborative efforts involving conventional and navy leaders, aiming to uplift the area from insecurity, poverty, and academic challenges which have plagued communities for years.
