The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, for allegedly assaulting a 73-year-old chief, Abraham Areola.
Ogunjobi was charged on three counts, together with conspiracy, assault, and conduct prone to trigger a breach of peace.
Confirming the event, Nigeria Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that Ogunjobi appeared in court docket on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
“He was granted bail whereas the case was adjourned to March 6, 2025,” Adejobi stated, assuring that justice can be served.
The incident, which gained public consideration via a viral video, has sparked discussions about accountability amongst conventional rulers.
