Oluwabukunola Gadzama, a high Lagos businesswoman is at present dealing with prosecution by the {Economic} and {Financial} Crimes Fee (EFCC) for alleged fraud.

The EFCC on Wednesday arraigned the businesswoman earlier than an Ikeja Excessive Courtroom for allegedly stealing N34.5 million beneath the guise of buying a plot of land.

Gadzama was charged alongside her firm, Buildcon World Providers Ltd., on two counts: stealing and retaining proceeds of crime.

The defendant pleaded not responsible to the fees.

EFCC counsel, Franklin Ofoma, requested a trial date and urged the court docket to remand the defendant till the trial begins.

The prosecutor alleged that Oluwabukunola Gadzama dedicated the offenses between October 2021 and April 2022 in Lagos. He claimed she stole and transformed N34.5 million, the property of complainant Adeyemi Joshua, which was supposed for the acquisition of a 300-square-meter plot of land at Mak Courtroom Property in Lekki.

The EFCC additionally alleged that Gadzama unlawfully retained the stolen funds.
