There was panic amongst residents of Morai city in Talata Mafara Native Authorities Space of Zamfara State following a late-night assault on Monday by armed assailants suspected to be bandits.
The lethal raid claimed the lives of a former sole administrator of the native authorities, Saminu Morai, and three different people.
A number of sources from the group confirmed the assault, which has left a number of residents feared kidnapped and plenty of others traumatized.
“Bandit assault Morai city in Talata Mafara native authorities of Zamfara state killed former Talata Mafara native authorities sole administrator and three others. Many individuals have been kidnapped,” a resident stated.
“The title of the administrator is Saminu Morai. The assault occurred final evening,” the resident added, noting that the attackers stormed the realm unexpectedly and left a path of devastation.
Following the incident, the Emir of Talata Mafara and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the realm have been stated to have attended the burial of the deceased, which came about earlier on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic rites.
“And Emir of Talata Mafara along with DPO of Talata Mafara attended the funeral,” the supply confirmed.
The Zamfara State Police Command has but to challenge an official assertion regarding the incident. Moreover, exact particulars on the variety of abductees and the identities of the perpetrators stay unclear.
