Tinubu will overhaul Nigeria’s educational system – Minister

Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, has assured that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is posed to overhaul the country’s educational system.

He stated this weekend during a two-day retreat on ‘Ministerial Deliverables and Implementation of the Education for Renewed Hope: Road for the Nigerian Education Sector 2024-2027 for Principal Officers and Heads of Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and Agencies’ in Uyo.

He noted that due to the priority the president attaches to education, the budget allocation to the sector has astronomically improved as compared to past years.

“I can assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will improve the educational system in the country. This is the first time in history that the ministry experienced double digits in the budget.

“As a ministry, we need to be fully prepared to turn around the basic and secondary education by doing something better to improve the education in our nation.

“We want to infuse some entrepreneurial skills into the basic and secondary educational system, and it will cut across our tertiary institution. We will equally introduce technology into basic education.

“We will develop our teachers and give them a sense of life and belonging because you cannot talk about quality education when the teachers are ill-prepared.”
