PoliticalNews Nigeria reviews that Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared that the latest assaults in Benue State are past clashes between farmers and herders.
Governor Alia said that what Benue is experiencing in the intervening time are well-planned assaults executed by bandits and terrorists.
The Benue Governor stated this on Friday throughout an interview on Channels Tv’s Politics Immediately.
In keeping with him, the state is beneath siege, which has resulted within the killing of a number of people.
“We’re beneath siege,” Governor Alia exclaimed on the programme when requested if he thinks the state is beneath a terror assault.
“The way in which these assaults come and the intel we obtain, it’s a directed calibrated plan after which executed.
“Each day we’re receiving these intel. Of late, every of these intel we obtain, 60 to 65 per cent of it’s fairly correct.
“After which if you realise what’s going on, it’s past simply battle, it’s past simply an ethnic battle between herders and farmers in our state, it’s directed, it’s deliberate after which it’s executed, it’s some terrorism,” he added.
The governor lamented that the state is now engaged in a guerrilla warfare with terrorists which is consuming up Benue as a result of the perpetrators come beneath the quilt of darkness and are in a position to escape with out getting caught.
“For some purpose, none of them is ever caught, they arrive in within the thick of the night time, hit, run and no person sees a hint. So, it’s some terrorism that’s consuming us up,” he remarked
